⚠ Important Notes:
On Wednesdays, equipment can be loaned for a few hours, but not overnight (no Wednesday–Friday loans).
Staff are only available during the hours above. Please respect this:
Do not arrive at 15:50 asking for kit.
If you arrive at 16:00, no one will be present.
Ignoring this may affect your loan privileges.
All equipment queries must go through our central email: filmstore@kcl.ac.uk
Do not email staff individually. Messages about equipment, SISO, or Smarthub sent to personal accounts will not be processed.
We’re happy to answer questions, but technical responses may take time during busy periods. For simple issues, please check online resources first.

COLLECTION & RETURNS PROCESS
When collecting and returning equipment, you must inspect it with Loan Store staff. This ensures:
You have all the items you need
Equipment is returned complete and available for others
Any issues are logged immediately
LOAN STORE PRIVILEGES
The system is automated. Breaches will affect your access:
Two late returns = 4-week ban
Negligent damage = ban from the system
Both may impact your course progression and/or graduation eligibility.
If you experience genuine issues with returns or malfunctioning equipment, contact us as soon as possible.
ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES
Latest collection/return time: 15 minutes before closing. Plan ahead for data transfer (e.g. from SD cards).
SD Cards: Must be cleared and returned with the kit. Back up your footage before returning.
Delays or issues: Email filmstore@kcl.ac.uk immediately.
Short-notice requests: Equipment availability is not guaranteed. Book well in advance.
No handovers between students: All kit must be returned to the store and re-issued properly.
Late returns: All late/missing/damaged items are recorded. Repeated issues = loss of privileges.

The Loan Store is a shared resource. Please:
Look after equipment carefully
Plan efficient use (shorter, well-organised bookings)
Return kit on time for the benefit of classmates
